It’s not often that I buy into supermarket shelf marketing. I find treats and snacks so easy to make at home and honestly, I’m a control freak that likes to manage the ingredients I’m eating. That said I recently came across The Bar Counter. There are so many flavours available, some of my favourites include banana and quinoa, raw date, almond and chia, and then there’s dark chocolate and cherry. I am not one to advocate these sorts of treats but they’re a better alternative to say a milk-chocolate bar or a packet of chips. Most varities are sugar free, gluten free, low in sodium, full of fibre and protein and roughly around 160 calories per bar.
